NOVEMBER THROUGH APRIL  - 22 cal single shot with bull barrels,  50 feet at NRA targets, Jackets, Slings, Kneeling rolls,  3 position, prone, off hand (standing), kneeling. Bowling Pin Match is
Four classes
1 - Revolver Class
      (no reload, six shots to hit pins, 1 stopper plate)
2 - Semi-Auto Class
      (no reload, eight shots to hit six pins, 1 stopper plate).
3 - 22 Auto Only Class
      (no reloads, ten shots to hit seven pins, stopper plate)
       and yes a 22 pistol will clean the pins off the table.
4 - Combat Class
      (2 six round mags to hit seven pins, 1 stopper plate)

$5 entry fee each class (includes three practice runs).
Cash prize to winners (one money every 4 shooters each class).
Enter as many classes as you want. No limit.

Format subject to change.
Payout is optional depending on number of shooters.

      EDUCATION
             COURSE
ANNUAL -LAST WEEKEND OF AUGUST (Aug 30 & 31, 2008)- OPEN TO PUBLIC & FREE! 
2 day class, 10am to 6pm Saturday & Sunday.
Completion of a hunter education course is required for all first-time hunting license buyers in Ohio. Forty-nine states and all of the Canadian Provinces require hunter education; Ohio's hunter education course is accepted all across North America. The class is free and open to all ages.

CAMP-OUT JULY 11 & 12, 2008 - Members and their families may camp-out for 2 days this year! If you can't stay over night you're welcome to come hang out, eat, fish or just enjoy the company. We'll have a community campfire for cooking, food is potluck so bring something to share (we'll post a list of who's bringing what soon). Tents only - small campers allowed if it's a medical necessity. Club will provide paper plates, napkins, plastic utensils, coffee & water. INFO  740-361-7281.

OPEN TO PUBLIC & FREE!  PRIZES! FREE LUNCH! Bring the family, everyone is welcome to participate!
Instructor supervised HANDS ON shooting activities & demonstrations, will include Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Hand Gun, Archery, Canine Retrievers, Canine Drug search and more. Pre-Registration is highly suggested (and would really help us to have enough food and supplies for everyone!) but not required. Waivers must be signed to participate, kids must be accompanied by an adult.

8:30 - 9:30 ~ Safety Instruction  REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE
9:30 - 10:30 ~ Fishing Derby
10:30 - 12:00 All other hands-on activities
12:00 - 1:00 pm Lunch & Canine drug search
1:00 - 2:00 pm ~ Labrador Retriever demonstration at the pond
2:00 - 4:00 PM ~ All other hands-on activities

9am - 2pm ~ 3D Archery
4:00 pm ~ Trap Shoot will immediately follow Youth Day events!
                  Under 12 years free, Club Members $3.25, Non-Members $3.75

If your child will be attending with another adult you may print a Youth Waiver here and sign it for them to bring with them.

2008 June 21 included a FISHING CLINIC  giving kids the basics of fishing.
No one left empty handed, everyone left with a fishing pole!

Age groups: Up to 6 yrs, 7 - 10 yrs, 11 - 15 yrs. The up to 6 class and older kids with special needs may have adult help with baiting and reeling in fish. Bait provided, cane poles available or bring your own equipment.

First weekend in February. 60 Shot - 3 Position Match Sponsored by: Meeker Sportsman Club & Northwestern Ohio Rifle League. Rules: Latest published NRA rules. Positions: Prone, Standing, Kneeling. Event is held on indoor 50 ft range.
Entries: Send to Marshall Baker, 5536 Wildcat Pike, Marion, OH 43302  Competition: Open to NRA members & applicants. Classification: Competitors will be classified according to NRA classification system.

      400 YD
             RANGE
Behind the pond. approximately 100 FT X 400 FT section is being cleared through the middle of the trees. The trees on either side of the range will provide a sound / wind buffer. Plans include a permanent covered shooting area on concrete pad with 10 - 12 benches, bunkers at 50', 100', 200', 300' & 400'  - staggered so that multiple shooters may shoot any distance at the same time. 
WE MAY HAVE A DOZER! This has been the biggest hold up to continue work on the range.
   
MeetinGS REGULAR BUSINESS MEETING - Last Monday of every month 7pm at the Club House.  
If Monday is a holiday then meeting will be held the following Wednesday.
